The Doña Ana Arts Council (DAAC) is showcasing art work created by their own leaders for the December Arts & Cultural Center gallery exhibit. The art of current and emeritus board members will be on display in a show titled Across the Board. An opening reception will be held December 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. during the Second Saturday 10–10 Arts Hop. The exhibit will be on display from December 7 to December 21 and will be available for viewing during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. DAAC offices and gallery will be closed from December 22 through January 1 and will reopen at 9 a.m. on January 2, 2019
Exhibiting artists are current board members Barbara Reasoner, Emmitt Booher, Abby Osborne, Heidi Frohnapfel, and Deret Roberts, joined by emeritus DAAC board members Ron Saltzman. Kathleen Squires, and Eric Rivera. The exhibit speaks to the fact that the DAAC board doesn’t just support the arts, in many cases, they also create art making use of many genres.
DAAC Board President Barbara Reasoner says, “It should come as no surprise that board members of the Doña Ana Arts Council either have a great interest in the arts or are artists themselves. The December show featuring several of our current and past board members will showcase the diversity of talent through photography, fiber art, and paintings.”
The exhibit at the DAAC Arts & Cultural Center is just one of many that can be enjoyed during the monthly Second Saturday 10–10 Arts Hop, which gives art lovers the opportunity to visit six diverse galleries between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Find unique holiday gifts by visiting galleries in Las Cruces and Mesilla Saturday, December 8.
